The 2026 edition of the Belgian Air Force Days will mark an important milestone for aviation enthusiasts and the general public. For the first time, Belgian F 35s will be presented to the public during an airshow in Belgium. They will be displayed in static configuration, offering a unique opportunity to observe this fifth generation fighter aircraft up close.
First Belgian F 35s delivered in October
The first Belgian F 35s arrived in October, marking a key stage in the modernisation of the Air Force. Since their delivery, the aircraft have gradually been introduced into the fleet. This initial phase includes various internal activities aimed at integrating the aircraft safely and efficiently into its new environment. Their presence at the Belgian Air Force Days fits naturally within this broader transition period.
A long awaited first public presentation
Until now, Belgian F 35s had only been seen during official ceremonies or Defence related activities. Their static display at the Belgian Air Force Days will give the public the opportunity:
- • to approach the aircraft,
- • to observe its characteristic design,
- • to discover a platform built with the latest technological standards,
- • to meet personnel involved in this important transition.
This first public appearance at a Belgian airshow will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the 2026 edition.
International participation expected
The Belgian Air Force Days traditionally welcome many foreign air forces. The 2026 edition is again expected to gather partner nations, some of which also operate the F 35. This may allow visitors to discover different versions and national liveries of this next generation aircraft.
Official confirmations of international participants will be announced progressively.
A major milestone for the Air Force
The participation of the Belgian F 35s in the 2026 Belgian Air Force Days is more than a simple presence. It reflects the technological evolution and modernisation underway within the Air Force. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover an aircraft that will play a central role in Belgium’s future air capabilities and to learn more about the teams supporting this transition in the years to come.
