Power and agility: the Swedish Gripen in Solo Display!

The JAS 39 Gripen fighter aircraft of the Swedish Air Force will be among the aircraft presented at our event, both in a flying display and a static exhibition.
Through the Gripen Solo Display and a ground presentation, Sweden highlights one of Europe’s most modern and versatile multirole fighters, renowned for its agility, performance, and design tailored to the demands of contemporary operations.

The Gripen, a pillar of Swedish air defence

Sweden currently operates approximately 96 Gripen C/D aircraft in operational service.
At the same time, the Swedish Air Force continues its transition to the more advanced Gripen E/F versions, bringing the total fleet to more than 150 aircraft.

This evolution reflects the determination to maintain a modern, flexible, and sovereign air capability, while ensuring operational continuity centred around the Gripen.

The Gripen Solo Display: a demonstration of power and agility

The Gripen Solo Display is performed by a JAS 39C, a proven version of the Swedish fighter, operating from Såtenäs Air Base, home of the F 7 Skaraborg Wing, the core unit of Gripen operations in Sweden.
This flying demonstration highlights the aircraft’s performance and operational qualities through a dynamic and spectacular display programme.

The overall display highlights the Gripen’s responsiveness, agility, and versatility in a modern air combat environment.

A fighter aircraft to discover both in the air and on the ground

During the event, the public will be able to:

  • attend the Gripen’s flying display and fully appreciate its manoeuvrability and power,
  • get up close to the aircraft in a static display, to closely observe its lines, configuration, and equipment,
  • gain a better understanding of the Swedish approach to air defence through a modern and versatile fighter aircraft.

The presence of the Gripen in both a flying display and a static exhibition will offer a comprehensive view of this iconic aircraft, combining in-flight performance with a detailed ground-level discovery.
