Recently introduced into service within Florennes\u2019 2\u1d49 Tactical Wing, the MQ\u20119B SkyGuardian significantly enhances the Belgian Air Force\u2019s capabilities in Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR). Operated by the reactivated 2\u1d49 Squadron, this remotely piloted aircraft system is designed to ensure persistent presence over vast areas, both over national territory and during international operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thanks to its certifiable design allowing operations in controlled civil airspace, the MQ\u20119B stands out as a key asset in support of security, situational awareness, and cooperation with NATO partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
With an endurance exceeding 40 hours, state\u2011of\u2011the\u2011art electro\u2011optical and infrared sensors, and real\u2011time data transmission capability, the SkyGuardian enables continuous and accurate surveillance. It plays a key role in the protection of critical infrastructure, the monitoring of maritime approaches, and the support of forces engaged in operations. The MQ\u20119B combines performance, reliability, and interoperability with modern Belgian Air Force platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
